I disagree. That said, chances are, that if you give it a chance, you will like it even though it does not cater to your exact preferences... it is that good.

Moreover, the developer does listen to the community, but he also had a very clear vision from the start, and he was always very forthcoming with it. I think there is zero chance he will change the MC, so if that is really a deal breaker for you I am afraid you will not get to enjoy this game.
