Because Germany decided "hm, steam doesn't have an actual way to verify a user's age. H-Games are 18+, so all these porn must be banned." It's basically the same reason why dlsite is not accessible anymore. However double standards strike again because every non porn game that is 18+ is still available to view & purchase on steam, because clearly it's worse seeing some anime tits(or cocks in this case) than seeing torture, or other violent content in games.

the verification thing is just a huge problem for me because it adds another way to track you (like beyond IPaddress, money-transfers. etc.). Someone should invent like prepaid XXX-credits which we can buy in person, so you could be age-checked but remain anonymous.
doublestandard is on a different level
and even if there wasn't a double standard, I'd still think it's weird because something doesn't have to be explicit (violent or lewd) to be traumatic or corrupting. I think representations of affluence, romanctic tropes, hero-worship, etc. did more to harm my generation than porn or gta, like as far as mental/social health.
but like so what happens if devs just don't tag their shit as porn? how quickly can steam and internet police find and scrub it? with the doublestandard they could still be reponisibilitiness and tag "+18" but not "tities" per se!
